Industrial Knit Experiements
This body of work showcases the knit techniques I tested and developed while working as a freelance knitwear developer. Depending on the yarn weight, texture, and pattern selected by the client, the appropriate machine was chosen to develop each knit. Most stripes, simple tucks, and repeating patterns like argyle were created on a single-bed machine, while more complex ribs, bubbles, and cardigan stitches were developed on a double-bed machine or Dubied for larger, more intricate designs. Each technique was then either applied as yardage for a cut-and-sew piece or directly shaped on the machine before being joined into a finished garment or product.
